2010 METRO OPEN WATER CHAMPIONSHIP (07/11/2010)

    A small but strong TWISTERS squad (90% girls) took the challenge to race in Huntington Bay against a crowded company of about 150 swimmers from Metro, New England and Australia. After a great morning of races, ranging from 1000 yards for 10 and under to 5K for Open, our swimmers proved to be brave enough to conquer the waves, cold water and competitions throughout the age groups: 10-undre girls: Kayla Polanco (9) finished 3rd followed closely by Nicole Falcao (10) in 4th; 11-12 girls Samantha Wu (12) and Anna Lee (12) raced each other for the 5th and 6th place; in 11-12 boys Kevin Wu (12) aN Open water rookie won first place, with John Criollo (11) in 7th;  in 13-14 girls Brigitti Cruz (14) finished in an honorable 5th and finally in the girls Open 5K Yuria Haruki (16) finished 2nd, Agata Michalak (16) third and Joyce Kwok (15) 5th followed by our own coach Zuzanna Michalak (?) touching in the upper half.
